Destinations and accommodation
- Destinations: nach Spanien/nach Frankreich with these article-free country names; in die Schweiz/in die Türkei/in die USA with article forms. Compare location in der Schweiz/in den USA. Ans Meer means to the sea, in die Berge to the mountains and aufs Land to the countryside in these models.
- Hotel, Jugendherberge, Campingplatz and Ferienwohnung name accommodation types. Vollpension is full board with breakfast and two main meals; Halbpension breakfast and one main meal. These labels do not establish every extra included in a particular real booking.
Distinguish destination and location
Transport
- Transport phrases include mit dem Zug, Flugzeug, Auto, Schiff, Bus or Fahrrad and zu Fuß. Mit takes dative in these models. Fahrkarte means ticket, Bahnsteig platform, Abfahrt departure, Ankunft arrival and Verspätung haben to be delayed.
- In the supplied ticket context einfach means single/one-way and hin und zurück outward and return. The original practice information Bonn–Köln, einfach, 09:20–09:50 gives a thirty-minute listed journey; it is invented data rather than a live timetable or fare.

Booking
- Ich möchte ein Zimmer für zwei Personen reservieren, bitte requests a room reservation. Haben Sie noch ein Zimmer frei? asks whether a room remains available; frei does not mean free of charge here.
- Was kostet es pro Nacht? asks the nightly price for that room; ist das Frühstück inklusive? asks about breakfast. Practice reply: es kostet achtzig Euro pro Nacht, ohne Frühstück. The invented quote does not make a real offer, reservation or purchase.

Activities
- Wandern means hike in the mountain model; besichtigen look round a place such as a museum; schwimmen swim; sich entspannen relax; Souvenirs kaufen buy souvenirs and Ski fahren ski. Sich sonnen means sunbathe as vocabulary, without prescribing sun exposure.
- Use the actual text for activities: ich habe ein Museum besichtigt states a museum visit, not a visit to a person. In ich wandere in den Bergen, dative describes moving within a location, so movement is not automatically an accusative destination.
Perfect tense
- Complete perfect models include ich bin nach Bonn gefahren, ich bin nach Wien geflogen and ich bin im Hotel geblieben. Bleiben means remaining and still uses sein; auxiliary choice is not a change-only rule. Fahren has transitive uses with haben in other constructions.
- Ich habe ein Museum besichtigt and ich habe ein Buch gekauft use haben. Gesehen, gegangen and gefahren are standard written participles; reduced gesehn can occur informally. Ich bin gekauft is not the requested active perfect of buying: use ich habe gekauft.
Choose the actual perfect construction
Future
- Nächstes Jahr werde ich nach Italien fahren uses active Futur I for the stated plan; finite werde follows the single opening constituent nächstes Jahr. The bare infinitive fahren closes this simple main-clause bracket.
- Ich möchte ein Museum besuchen states a wish. A present form can also refer to future travel in context. These are fictional plans rather than guaranteed events or real bookings; coherent alternatives do not require a real holiday history.
Distinguish a plan and wish
Problems
- Ich habe meinen Pass verloren reports a lost passport, das Zimmer war schmutzig a dirty room and der Flug wurde gestrichen a cancelled flight. Gestrichen has a cancellation sense in this complete flight context.
- Original report: der Zug hat zwanzig Minuten Verspätung, aber er fällt nicht aus. The train is late and explicitly not cancelled; do not replace the negated claim with the opposite. This lesson teaches report vocabulary without inventing legal, emergency or compensation procedures.
