Weather uses complete expressions

  • Hace sol, calor, frío or viento expresses sunny, hot, cold or windy conditions. Llueve means it rains/is raining; nieva means it snows/is snowing; está nublado means it is cloudy.
  • These are impersonal expressions in the weather examples, not references to a male person. A sentence about today’s weather does not establish the climate of an entire region.
