Learn related forms such as médico/médica, profesor/profesora, enfermero/enfermera, abogado/abogada, ingeniero/ingeniera and cocinero/cocinera. The grammatical form does not restrict who may enter a profession.
Simple identification commonly omits an article after ser: soy profesora, quiero ser médico. This is not a ban on articles in every expanded description: es una profesora excelente is possible.

Work experience needs a context
Hice prácticas en una tienda means I did a work placement or work experience in a shop. Trabajo a tiempo parcial means I work part-time; el sueldo is the pay, el jefe/la jefa the boss and los compañeros de trabajo colleagues.
Gano diez euros por hora is an invented hourly-rate example. Trabajé los sábados can frame a completed period; trabajaba los sábados describes a habit from within. Neither phrase establishes real wages or access to work.

Future forms express one kind of plan
Seré médico/médica, iré a la universidad and haré prácticas illustrate future plans. Regular future bases retain the infinitive, so seré and iré are not examples of irregular future stems.
Useful irregular bases include har-, tendr-, podr-, querr- and dir-. Quiero ser, espero estudiar and me gustaría trabajar express other kinds of intention or wish; use their required infinitives and links.
Ambition constructions
Qualities and skills in a sentence
Soy una persona trabajadora, paciente y responsable describes an invented hard-working, patient, responsible person. Trabajador can be an adjective or a noun depending on its construction; adjective agreement still matters.
Las habilidades are skills or abilities. Hablo dos idiomas and sé trabajar en equipo describe language and teamwork skills in an invented profile; they are not statements about the learner.

Applications: interpret the supplied purpose
In an employment application, el currículum is the CV, la carta de presentación the cover letter and la entrevista the interview. Solicitar un puesto means to apply for a position.
Read: En mi currículum describo mis habilidades para mostrar lo que sé hacer. The stated purpose is to show the applicant’s abilities; this teaching text is not a required form or a universal application rule.

Pathways and breaks are choices
La universidad, el bachillerato and la formación profesional are useful education terms; exact institutions, qualifications and routes vary by country. A language example is not a guarantee of entry to any pathway.
Un año sabático can describe an extended break, including a gap year in a school-leaver context or a sabbatical elsewhere. The invented plan quiero viajar y ganar experiencia gives one speaker’s reason, not everyone’s reason or situation.

Opinions with a reason and contrast
Me gustaría trabajar al aire libre porque me gusta estar fuera expresses an invented preference. No me gustaría trabajar en una oficina expresses another; the lesson does not claim office work is inherently boring.
El sueldo es importante, pero también valoro el trabajo en equipo adds a contrast. A coherent reason supports the speaker’s opinion; there is no single correct ambition or hierarchy of jobs.
