Frequently asked questions
What Kablow is, what it costs, and how it works in class.
- What is Kablow?
- Kablow is a free gamified learning platform for classrooms. Teachers pick or generate a topic and share a join code; students answer questions to explore an open world — fishing, battling, taming creatures and collecting avatar skins as they learn. It works for live review games, revision, and full class activities.
- Is Kablow free?
- Yes. Kablow is free for teachers and students. Students earn in-game currency by answering questions and spend it on avatar skins and cosmetics — there are no real-money purchases and no paid loot boxes.
- Do students need an account to play?
- No. Students can join a live game straight from a teacher's join code without creating an account. A free account simply lets them keep their avatar, progress and collected skins between sessions.
- How is Kablow different from Blooket, Gimkit and Kahoot?
- Like Blooket and Gimkit, Kablow runs live multiplayer review games driven by your questions. The difference is the world: instead of a menu of separate mini-games, students share one explorable open world — fishing, battling and taming creatures — so a review session feels like an RPG rather than a quiz screen.
- What subjects and grade levels does Kablow support?
- Kablow is subject-agnostic — any topic with questions can be played. Ready-made revision resources cover IGCSE, IB, GCSE and A-Level topics, and teachers can add their own questions or generate a topic with AI in a few seconds.
- Do teachers have to write their own questions?
- No. Teachers can generate a full topic with AI in seconds, use ready-made revision topics, or author their own questions — whichever they prefer. Any of these can be launched as a live game or set as classwork.
- Is Kablow safe for students?
- Kablow is designed to be COPPA-aware: it collects minimal student information, students can join by code without an account, and every in-game reward is earned through play. There are no real-money purchases and no paid loot boxes.
